We’ve all been there, desperately scraping the bottom of the barrel for new and fresh content as we approach the end of the month. Staring at a blank screen desperately hoping for something to pop into your head is not a great use of time for you, your business or your clients so here are our top tips for getting through writer’s block for content creators!
1. Have a quick read through old blogs
It’s amazing how many gems are hidden in old blog content. Dig them out, give them a read and refresh some of that super useful content to be repurposed into a social media post. Grab a new image and bob’s your uncle. A quick and easy way to get those creative juices flowing.
2. What do your clients and customers say about you?
Hit up your Google My Business reviews section or contact some clients and ask for some case studies/reviews. When you receive positive feedback, it’s a great reminder of why you do what you do and can reignite that fire and spur you on. It’s also great content in itself to be posting so be brave and reach out!
3. Tonight’s news at ten…
“Borrowing” content is a good gap filler, particularly if you’re operating in an industry that has some great dedicated news outlets. We like to also use Google Alerts with specific keywords for clients and pull on some of the newsworthy and topical content with our own spin on things.
4. Sneak Peek!
Audiences are really responding well to behind the scenes of businesses – how many times have you fallen down a black hole on TikTok watching super satisfying order packing videos?! (Or is that just us?!) Take a look at your average day and start documenting it in fun ways – videos (Reels and TikTok in particular) are great for this or a fun infographic! It gives you the chance to really enhance the personal side of your brand and put a face to the business!
5. Build a community
Whether you sell a product or a service, you can build a community with your clients and followers on social media. You could ask for photo submissions, especially if your product/service is quite visual, and then share them on your social media platforms! Sharing community-generated content can help your audience visualise your product or service as part of their life easier than glossy salesy images.
6. Create shareable content
The Rebellion team were putting our heads together earlier this week to think of some new ways of spreading a very important message for a prospective client and one of the team came up with the great idea of creating shareable graphics for Instagram Stories. You can create these graphics easily in Canva (or SocialRebel of course!) and leave space for people to tag their friends and create a chain of Story shares!
7. Top Tips and Tricks
