It’s no secret that great visuals make a big impact on the customer, whether it is a stunning shop window display, a swanky office or a clean website. When it comes to marketing, the imagery you use is extremely important, and unfortunately, stock images only take you so far. In this blog, we are going to highlight the impact of great photography for your brand.

Did you know that posts with images produce 650% higher engagement than text-only posts? Or that visual content is 40 times more likely to get shared on social media than other types of content? That’s a pretty huge difference, eh?

    First impressions

First impressions are everything! Did you know that people form a first impression in just 50 milliseconds? It’s all well and good having a great caption, but if you don’t have an engaging image, it’s likely that the customer will carry on scrolling down their feed. High-quality, consistent, and professional photography is going to help capture potential customers’ attention. They’ll see that you have high attention to detail and are much more likely to engage with the post and drop you a follow.

    Visual content is easily understood

Imagery is a much quicker way of getting your message across to your customers as opposed to a chunk of text. Text is great, but the brain processes an image 600,000 times faster than text. If you want to convey a message, consider a professional photograph or image. If it’s your own photograph, it’s also much more memorable as opposed to a stock image that the viewer may have already seen.

    Makes your brand more human

Have you got pictures of yourself and your team? No? It’s a great idea to have a photography day where you take all kinds of photos, from headshots to action shots of you at work, and some photos that show off your personality as a brand. The Rebellion Marketing team had a photography/videography day where we ended up with a plethora of different images and videos. Having a large bank of images means you have a lot to work with, you can use them for your personal LinkedIn profiles, social media, website, and more. Photos with people in them take your products and services from seeming conceptual and bring them into a reality as something that is tangible.

    Engagement!

Just picture this… Your feed is full of text-based posts, and then you come across a striking image or a funny meme. Let’s face it, you’re much more likely to pay more attention to the image-based post. If you want people to click on a link, you need to grab their attention as soon as possible! Not only will visual posts attract new followers, but they also keep the attention of your existing followers which is just as important.

Hopefully, we have convinced you to take a step back from using stock images, and take some professional, original photos.  Nowadays, mobile phone cameras are so good that you can take some great snaps for your social media and website. If you would like some professional photos/videos taken, then please get in touch with us today!

What Parents Judge in the First 5 Seconds on Your School Website

A prospective parent arrives on your website for the first time. They may have found you through Google, followed a recommendation, clicked through from an advert or opened your site alongside four other schools they are considering. Within a few moments, they are already forming an impression. They probably have...

The Quiet Death of the Blue Link: What Zero-Click Search Means for You

For years, the deal with Google was fairly straightforward. Somebody searched for something, Google showed them a list of websites and they clicked one of the blue links to find the answer. That journey still happens, but not as often as it used to. Google now answers many questions directly...

Selling Trust, Not Stuff: Why Professional Services Marketing Is Different

Selling a professional service is a slightly strange transaction. The client is being asked to pay for something they cannot examine beforehand, take home in a box or return because it looked better on the website. They cannot test a solicitor’s judgement, inspect an accountant’s advice or ask a consultant...

Open Days Aren’t Enough: How Families Really Choose a School Now

Open days remain one of the most important moments in the school admissions journey. They give families the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the school, meet pupils and staff, explore the facilities and begin to imagine what daily life there might feel like for their child. Schools understandably invest...
